Microsoft Dynamics NAV Customers Wonder: Where Is Microsoft Taking Us?

There’s the buzz and there are the rumors. But how can we separate fact from fiction?

Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) has been around for a really long time. In fact, the first version of Navision was released in 1987. And Qixas Group has been implementing Dynamics NAV for more than 2 decades, since before Navision was purchase by Microsoft. What’s more? There are more than 1.4 million NAV users worldwide, more than 120,000 companies that run their businesses on NAV, and more than 7,000 new implementations of Dynamics NAV every year. Even Microsoft can’t afford to sneeze at those numbers.

Even with a long and illustrious history, the advent of Microsoft Dynamics 365 created angst among both clients (end users) and partners like Qixas. However, as the first anniversary of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 release fast approaches, most of those concerns have been put to rest. The sky didn’t fall and VARs (Value Added Resellers) like Qixas continue to have a thriving Dynamics NAV business alongside a newer, healthy Dynamics 365 practice.

For Qixas, the transition to Dynamics 365 was a lot easier than we originally thought it would be. This is because, as it turns out, the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Business Edition was actually built on the foundation of Dynamics NAV. This in turn meant that NAV clients who were ready to move to the cloud had a prescribed path to Dynamics 365. And prospective clients can now choose either a traditional NAV implementation or a Microsoft Dynamics 365 cloud solution.

It’s worth noting that there are very few ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems that, like Microsoft Dynamics 365, were built for the cloud. And none as comprehensive as Dynamics 365. With Dynamics 365, the sky’s the limit. It’s a single, unified solution with unlimited capabilities.

Take a look at some of the following and you’ll see what we mean.

Dynamics 365 for Financials

Dynamics 365 for Sales

Dynamics 365 for Marketing

Dynamics 365 for Customer Service

And the super popular Microsoft Dynamics 365 Power Apps

Microsoft Dynamics 365 embodies the future of ERP. That’s why, over a relatively short period of time, Qixas has developed a team of Dynamics 365 experts with a level of expertise comparable to our NAV practice team.
