What is LS Central and how is it different from a standalone POS?
LS Central is LS Retail's unified commerce platform built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. A standalone POS only handles transactions at the till and then has to be integrated with separate inventory, e-commerce, and accounting systems. LS Central makes all of those one system — the POS, back office, inventory, loyalty, e-commerce, and full ERP share a single database, so there's nothing to reconcile between systems and every location reads the same live data.
Is LS Central only for retail stores?
No. LS Central serves six core verticals: retail, restaurants and food service, hotels and resorts, pharmacies, forecourt and gas stations, and specialty venues such as spas, stadiums, and arenas. The same platform supports mixed-format operations — for example a retailer that also runs in-store cafés — with purpose-built functionality for each.
We're on legacy LS Retail on Dynamics NAV. Can we move to LS Central?
Yes, and it's one of the most common engagements we run. Moving from LS Retail on NAV to LS Central on Business Central is a modernization project, not a simple upgrade — your customizations, item and store data, and integrations all need assessment.
